The difference between male and female bikes are hard to see with the naked eye but ride one and you can feel the difference especially when you start regularly clocking up some km's.

For many years cycling was dominated by males and with that it meant bicycles were designed mainly for the male physique and females would have to adjust themselves to suit. Well a lot has changed and the female market in cycling is huge with so many women getting into cycling they demanded bikes made specifically for them and their unique needs.

Why ride something that wasn't made for you? Now you can get bikes and equipment to fit women's bodies, to complement the way women really ride.

The women's product that Avantiplus stores stock has carefully been chosen, because of its design, functionality and not to forget its feminine styling.

Frame

Women's bikes feature female specific geometry with shorter top tubes and taller head tubes to better suit the female physique, there are also smaller frame sizes available to accommodate the more petite riders.

Females are generally easier on their bikes so don't require as much strength in the frame as their male counterparts this means their bikes are lighter and you have less metal/carbon to push around. The frame styling and colours are designed with a lot of female input to ensure they not only good all round bikes suited for women but that they are look the part too.

Components

A female specific bike is designed from the ground up with women in mind, the components selected for each bike are also specifically chosen to best suit females.

As women tend to have smaller hands and a reduced shoulder span to males, narrower and smaller handlebars are used which also bring the brake/gear levers closer.

To aid extra comfort to women, women specific saddles are used which are anatomically contoured to a ladies sit bones.

There is a huge selection of bikes to fit each type of women's styles and levels of riding and you are sure to find a bike perfect to meet your needs and get you hooked on the cycling buzz.
